Pairing: Changmin/Jaejoong, Implied Yunho/Jihyo
Genre: Romance
Rating: PG
Idea: StarCandy 100 Words Challenge Prompt #43: Flowers
Summary: Changmin was a flower shop keeper, so he was always surrounded by flowers. He learned over time what each flower meant and wanted to show his knowledge by asking one of his regular customers out. However, his said crush had only one request.

"What is it this time? A flower representing innocent love?"
Changmin stared at the man in front of him, "No. That was last week."
He could easily call this off, whatever it was. A pre-relationship chase? But he decided to keep pursuing because apparently, his crush only knew one flower and that was a . . .
". . . red rose. It's traditional and easily understood by people of all languages. If you want to be my boyfriend, then confess to me using a red rose. I don't want anything else. It's not special if it isn't a rose."
Changmin sighed and glanced at his crush's defiant posture who stood with arms crossed about his chest and a pout on that pretty face.
"I don't want to be traditional," Changmin said, "I want my confession to be different and unique."
"Don't forget boring," the man added with a roll of his eyes, "Look, I already told you that I won't be swayed with these unnecessary flowers. Like that last one you confessed to me with, the yellow flower . . ."
"It's called Freesia," Changmin frowned, miffed at the fact that his crush was treating flowers as if they were merely things that could be easily thrown away.
"See, I couldn't even remember the name of it," the man said.
"It means innocent love. I chose that particular flower, because it's the first time I'm confessing to you," Changmin explained.
"Well, I don't care. I'm giving you one last chance, only because you're actually good-looking," the man said and Changmin watched as the man left the shop. He smiled secretly when he noticed that the red flower he used to confessed to the older man just minutes ago, was clutched in his crush's hand.
"Another chance, my arse," Changmin scoffed with a smirk, "I see you've already fallen for me."
Changmin went back to work with a satisfied smile on his face.

The next day, Changmin was tending to his flowers when the entrance door opened. He looked up with a greeting and stopped when he found his crush clinging onto another man, a handsome man with a small face.
"Joongie, you're holding my hand a bit too tight."
Changmin clenched his jaw and ignored the couple as he went back to watering his flowers. He shuffled around a bit, trying to look busy while he secretly listened to what the couple was whispering about. He jumped in shock when he felt a tap at his back. It was the handsome man.
"I'm sorry, did I scare you?" the man asked. Changmin looked over to where his crush was and saw the other man quickly look away.
"No, you didn't. So, did you need help with something?" Changmin asked. The man smiled, scratching the back of his head nervously,
"Yes, I was wondering if you could help me make a wedding bouquet. I don't know much about flowers, but my fiancée does and I want to impress her."
Changmin quickly looked over at his crush and then back at the man in front of him,
"Her?"
The man frowned, "Yes, her. Can you help me?"
"But you -- him -- " Changmin began. The man looked over at the other man in the shop and smiled,
"Oh, Jaejoongie? He's a good friend of mine. Actually, he was the one who recommended this flower shop to me. He said it was the best in town, so I decided to check it out."
"So he's just a friend?" Changmin asked. The man looked back over at his friend,
"Yup, just a friend. Why?"
"Can you hurry up, Yunho? I have a salon appointment in 20 minutes," Changmin heard his crush whine, who was standing by a row of red roses. Yunho chuckled,
"You heard him. I have to leave quickly. So will you help me? My name is Jung Yunho and I want to pick up the bouquet by tomorrow. Is that okay?"
Changmin nodded dumbly and the man thanked him. He stood speechless as the two left his shop. He didn't know how long he stood there, but he snapped out of his thoughts when the door opened again and a customer walked into the shop. With a greeting to the elderly woman, he turned back to the counter with a grin on his face. His plan was going well so far.

"So, you recommended me?" Changmin couldn't help but pull his crush over to the side when the other man came back with his friend Jung Yunho. His crush gave a mock glare,
"Well, it is the only flower shop in town."
"But the best?" Changmin asked. His crush huffed,
"Yunho was just exaggerating."
"Really?" Changmin couldn't help but grin at how childish his crush was being.
"Nevermind. I thought I gave you one last chance. Are you going to take it or not?"
Changmin chuckled, "Like I would forget about it."
He walked back to the counter and pulled out a single red-bulbed flower,
"For you."
The man took the flower into his hand and stared pointedly at Changmin, "It's not a red rose."
"I can see that," Changmin said.
"And I told you I want a red rose. This was your last chance, you know?"
Changmin smiled and nodded, "I know."
The man frowned, "Why are you happy? I'm not going to come back after this."
"You will," Changmin said. The man gaped in shock,
"What?"
"Joongie, Jihyo wants to have a lunch date with the two of us. You know how she gets when we're late," Yunho said walking up to them and spotted the flower in his friend's hand,
"That's a pretty tulip. Are you going to buy that Jaejoong?"
"N--"
"He already did and I agree, it is a beautiful shade of red," Changmin smiled.
"Come on, I don't want to get on Jihyo's bad side before our wedding," Yunho tugged on his friend's arm and bid goodbye before leaving the shop.

"You persuasive, insufferable, attractive --"
Changmin heard the growl in his crush's voice the moment the door opened and he looked up with a smirk,
"You think I'm attractive?"
"Shut up," the man growled and Changmin found himself pulled slightly forward by his shirt and felt soft lips on his. The kiss lasted shorter than what Changmin wanted and he stared down at the brown eyes that was glaring up at him,
"I want a red rose for our first date. If I don't get a red rose, then you won't get a second date. Got it?"
"You're hoping for a second date?" Changmin wondered and his crush blushed,
"N-Not if you don't give me my red rose."
Changmin smiled and leaned down to peck at pouty lips,
"You do know that I'll never abide by your request no matter how many times you ask me."
His crush sneered, "One day. One day you'll give me my red rose."
Changmin scoffed and hugged the other man close.
We'll see about that.
